Strategic Plan and Annual Report
Message from the Chairman
Over the past year, the Box Elder County Economic Development Board has been working diligently to carry out its mission. We are pleased to report tangible progress in a number of areas.
The Economic Development Board was organized in 1990, and over the years, it has established a solid foundation. Now as we look forward, we must continue to build on these previous efforts by conceiving a sound strategic vision and instituting the means to implement the County's plan. Together, we must all be dedicated to achieving results.
The Board has the responsibility for recommending economic development policy and direction to the County Commission for implementation. These two elements - strategic planning and implementation - are essential, and they go hand-in-hand. Once the Box Elder County Commission agrees with the strategic direction, they must ensure that the means are available to carry out the plan. We can all agree that a plan is only as good as its implementation.
In the months ahead, the Board will continue to solicit the public's input. We serve as Board Members to promote Box Elder County and to achieve a dynamic, forward-thinking county which brings economic growth and development for the benefit of its citizens. We encourage your comments, and we welcome your support.
Box Elder County is well positioned with its Economic Development Strategic Plan, and it must now seize the opportunity to capitalize on its strengths. Together with the County's officials and it citizens, we can create and execute an economic development model which will be a leader in Utah and for other States with a similar mix of agriculture, business, technology, and community spirit.
I appreciate the hard work of the Boardmember and staff, and the support of the County Commissioner and most importantly, the citizens of Box Elder County.
Edward J. Skrobiszewski, Chair
Box Elder Economic Development Board
